Self-care is devoting time to activities that promote a healthy lifestyle which benefit both your physical and mental well-being. Self-care allows you to maintain a positive relationship with yourself, which in turn enhances your ability to connect with others. Self-care is not selfish: It is about saying “me too”, rather than “me first.” Attending our Self-care Workshops is a great way to start making self-care a priority in your life.
Self-care is crucial to your mental health. It can help you manage stress, reduce the risk of illness, and boost your energy levels. Even small gestures of self-care in your daily routine can have a big impact.
To assist you with your self-care, the Wellness Centre is offering the following two Self-care Workshops:
Meditation and breathwork
Vicky Drolet, owner of Namaste Yoga Studio Montcalm, will lead a workshop at the Wellness Centre focusing on meditation and breathwork. Learn about the philosophy of meditation and breathwork, and their benefits on body and mind. Try out various breathing exercises and techniques. This will be an interactive activity featuring both movements and explanations.
Self-Massage
Professional massage therapist, Chrystine Roy from Zeste Détente, will lead a two-hour workshop teaching you to how to use only yoga balls and a wall or the floor to fully massage your muscles on your own.
